2009-2010 Tax Credit

U.S. homeowners who purchased and installed a 75%-efficient biomass (wood or pellet) burning stove, fireplace or insert during 2009 or 2010 can receive a U.S. federal tax credit for 30% of their cost, up to $1,500.

More than 30 Quadra-Fire and Harman Home Heating products qualify for the tax credit, as well as the Northstar by Heat & Glo, and the Constitution by Heatilator (both are wood burning units).

If you purchased and installed a qualifying product, simply download and print the official Manufacturer’s Certificate, which indicates that the product qualifies for the tax credit. You can rely on the certificate when preparing your tax return. For specific questions about the tax credit please consult your tax advisor or the IRS.
